The Rolling Ball Award

Guidelines

1. The award takes the form of a trophy donated by Moorabinda Croquet Club.
2. This trophy is to be used to encourage visiting between those clubs who choose to enter this scheme.
3. Any club, affiliated or non affiliated, may participate and may withdraw at will.
4. There will be no entry or exit costs.
5. The object is when a club receives the trophy from another club, the recipient club must visit another club other than the one from‚ which‚ they received the trophy within one month, to pass the trophy on.
6. This visit can be on any club day or other day as may be arranged and to play any form of croquet as may be agreed.
7. The club presenting the trophy will in the course of their visit pay normal visitor green fees.
8. Should the recipient club still be in possession of The Rolling Ball Award after one month, any club may visit without notice and claim a free day's play plus a penality (to be decided, possibly a couple bottles of wine).
9. The clubs visiting or presenting the award must be represented by no less than four members.
10. When a club has presented another club with the award, it will notify all other clubs of this fact so the 'clock can start ticking'. It would seem that email would best suit this purpose.

OUR CLUB BATTLE HYMN

.Moorabinda Marauders

(to the tune of "John Brown's Body")

Moorabinda is the Croquet Club that other players fear
Our battle-ground in Bunbury is the one they all revere
Even when we're wounded we will never shed a tear
For the contest makes us strong

Ohh,

Gore and glory, Moorabinda
Reduce opponents to a cinder
None our victory path can hinder
To the victory we belong

HOY!

Moorabinda is our Croquet Club let's give a hearty cheer
We never shirk a roquet or a come-back from the rear
We're ruthless to the final hoop and when the peg is near
For the contest makes us strong

Ohh,

Gore and glory, Moorabinda
Reduce opponents to a cinder
None our victory path can hinder
To the victory we belong

HOY!

Moorabinda looks a friendly club with members cavalier
While we plot annihilation with a grin that's insincere
In the middle of a mega-break we're heartless and severe
'Cause the contest makes us strong

Ohh,

Gore and glory, Moorabinda
Reduce opponents to a cinder
None our victory path can hinder
To the victory we belong

HOY!

Composed in response to the York Croquet Club Battle Hymn
for the Moorabinda Croquet Club, 16th. June, 2006
